The New Standard in Antimicrobial Protection

Clinically Tested, FDA Compliant

Despite moving past the peak of the COVID pandemic, the need for germ-free environments is still more urgent than ever.

By neutralizing textiles as a major vector for microbial growth, we can reduce cross-contamination by transforming everyday fabrics into a built-in shield of protection.

The DURITex™ Difference

DURITex™ Technology Efficacy Report

DURITex™ Technology

An interactive report on the antimicrobial efficacy against common pathogenic viruses, bacteria, and fungi.

Bacterial Reduction

>99.9%

Against key pathogens after 24h (AATCC 100).

Wash Durability

100+

Efficacy maintained after 100 intensive home wash cycles.

Fungal Growth

Zero

No growth observed after 28 days (ASTM G21).

Testing Methodology

DURITex™ Technology is evaluated using internationally recognized standards to ensure reliable and reproducible results. Each test is designed to simulate real-world conditions for textile applications.

AATCC 100: Assessment of Antibacterial Finishes on Textile Materials

This is the industry standard for quantitative evaluation of antibacterial properties on textiles. It measures the **percentage reduction of bacteria** after a 24-hour contact time. It is also used to test efficacy after multiple wash cycles.

ASTM G21: Standard Practice for Determining Resistance of Synthetic Polymeric Materials to Fungi

This test evaluates the ability of a material to resist fungal growth. Samples are inoculated with a cocktail of fungal spores and incubated for 28 days. The level of growth is rated on a scale from **0 (no growth) to 4 (heavy growth)**.

ISO 18184: Determination of Antiviral Activity of Textile Products

This standard measures the performance of textiles in deactivating viruses. It quantifies the **reduction in viral load** after a specified contact time (e.g., 2 hours) compared to an untreated control fabric.

Bacterial Efficacy Details

Select a bacterium to view its specific log reduction value on DURITex™ treated textiles after 50 wash cycles. Log Reduction (LR) indicates the power by which the bacterial population is reduced (e.g., LR 3 = 99.9% reduction).

Staphylococcus aureus

A common gram-positive bacterium responsible for skin infections. DURITex™ provides robust, lasting protection.

Fungal Resistance (28 Days)

The line chart shows the percentage of surface area covered by fungal growth over 28 days. DURITex™ maintains a zero-growth rating, preventing material degradation and odors caused by mold and mildew.

DURITex™ is an innovative and versatile solution that seamlessly integrates into a wide variety of industries.

  • Healthcare

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) were directly responsible for 1.27 million deaths globally in 2019.

The WHO states that improving hygiene standards in healthcare could reduce AMR and HAIs by up to 70%.

DURITex™ can eradicate microbial breeding in textiles, helping to dramatically reduce contamination, infection, and disease transmission.

  • Hospitality

Linen quality is cited by 97% of hotel guests as their top concern.

Illnesses contracted in hotel settings may include common infections like influenza, norovirus, and E. coli.

DURITex™ can suppress microbial growth, significantly reducing the risk of pathogen transmission and creating safer environments for both guests and staff.

  • Military

DURITex™ is used by U.S. Special Forces and law enforcement agencies to improve hygiene and control odor.

Extended field exercises and long deployments can lead to issues like body and foot odor and other ailments like athletes foot, STAPH, and MRSA.

DURITex™-treated fabrics remain odor-free and bacteria-free even after prolonged use.

  • Pharmaceutical Additives

Antimicrobial additives are widely employed across industries to produce cleaner, safer, and longer-lasting products by inhibiting microbial growth.

There is a growing demand for eco-friendly and economically viable antimicrobial solutions.

The urgent need for new antibiotics is growing while innovation is at a historic low.

  • Agriculture

An estimated 73% of all antibiotics globally are used in agriculture.

DURITex™ could be formulated as an injectable antimicrobial treatment for palm tree roots to effectively neutralize Ganoderma, a soil-borne fungus.

  • Air Filtration

Air ducts in homes, offices, hotels, and hospitals can act as conduits for airborne pathogens, facilitating the transmission of respiratory infections.

DURITex™ can be applied directly to standard HVAC filters, which kills or inhibits the growth of bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms.

This approach is designed to enhance indoor air quality, reduce the risk of airborne disease transmission.
